India has launched its spacecraft Chandrayaan-3 to the Moon and is expected to complete around 3.84 Lakhs KMs long journey in around 45 days by end of August. The Chandrayaan-3 budget is around INR. 615 Crores.

India’s third Moon mission and second attempt at a moon landing launched today. Chandrayaan-1 in 2008, is credited with discovering Lunar Water. In 2019, Chandrayaan-2 attempted to land a rover but crashed into the lunar surface in the final stages of descent.

Chandrayaan-3 will once again attempt a soft moon landing. If successful, India will become only the fourth country to land a spacecraft on the moon, after the United States, the former Soviet Union and China. India’s lander ‘Vikram’ and rover 'Pragyan', would also be the first spacecraft on the Moon’s South Pole, which remains unexplored.
