Another Tea Garden Shuts Down in Dooars Without Notice, Leaving 1,500 Workers Unemployed

The sudden closure of tea gardens in Dooars is unfortunately, not a new phenomenon. Earlier this morning, Mechpara Tea Garden in Alipurduar (Dooars) was shut down without any prior notice, as the management abruptly left the premises.

According to the workers, they were still awaiting one month’s unpaid salary. Around 1,500 tea workers gathered near the tea factory to understand the situation. The sudden closure has left them in deep distress, as they fear for their livelihoods and uncertain future.
