Death of Two Adult Elephants Raises Concern Over the Safety of Wildlife in Dooars



Two wild elephants were found dead in the Kalchini block of Dooars (Alipurduar) yesterday. According to sources, one was a pregnant female elephant, while the other was an adult male. Both were discovered in the same block in Dooars. Forest officials have recovered their bodies, but the cause of death remains unknown. 

Some sources suggest that the elephants may have been poisoned, while others believe electrocution might be the cause.

The death of these two wild elephants has raised concerns over the safety of wildlife in Dooars, a region renowned for its rich biodiversity and significant role in the conservation of wild animals. Known as a vital hub for wildlife preservation, the Dooars area is home to numerous species, making the protection of its inhabitants a top priority.
