Shocking: Nepalese woman murdered in Bengaluru;body dismembered into over 30 pieces, found stored in refrigerator

In a shocking incident, a 29-year-old home-alone woman was murdered and her body parts cut into 30 pieces and stuffed in the fridge of the house she was living in at Vinayaka Nagar in Vyalikaval in Bengaluru on Saturday.

The police identified the deceased as Mahalakshmi, a native of Nelamangala on the city outskirts. Her family was originally from Nepal, but she was born and brought up in the city and was fluent in Kannada, an officer said.

She was married to one Hemanth Das five years ago. The couple has a four-year-old child. The police said the couple had differences and she left him from Nelamangala and came to stay alone in Bengaluru. She was working as a salesperson at a shop at a mall.

The murder came to light when Mahalakshmi’s neighbours were alarmed by a foul smell emanating from her rented house in Vyalikaval. Mahalakshmi has been staying alone at the one-bedroom house on the first floor of the G+3 building for five months.

The police suspect the murder could have taken place a fortnight ago as the body parts were highly decomposed and worms were found in them. Further investigations are underway.
