A tragic accident occurred yesterday on Lanka Road near Dalmore Ghumti, resulting in the death of a young man. A bike traveling from Ramjhora to Birpara collided head-on with a car coming from the opposite direction.
The impact of the collision was so severe that the biker sustained critical injuries. He was immediately rushed to Birpara Hospital, where doctors later declared him dead.
The deceased has been identified as Lakshman Oraon (30), a resident of Ramjhora Tea Garden in the Dooars region.
Both the car and the motorcycle suffered extensive damage due to the force of the crash.
Local authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
