A horrifying incident took place in Maynaguri, Jalpaiguri district on Friday morning. A man named Ramesh Roy allegedly killed his wife Deepali (45), cut her body into pieces and carried her heart and other organs in a bag while roaming around the village.
According to local sources, Ramesh allegedly hacked his wife, Deepali (45), to death with a sharp weapon at their residence. “He then cut up her body and stuffed parts into a bag. Witnesses claimed that he went door to door in the locality, showing his wife’s organs to shocked neighbors,” said a police officer.
One resident, Bablu Roy, said he saw Ramesh carrying a bag and showing his wife’s heart. When Bablu went to check their house, he found blood on the bed and immediately informed others and the police.
The village head, Neelima Roy, also confirmed that Ramesh was moving around with body parts in a bag and quickly alerted the police.
Police reached the spot, recovered Deepali’s body and sent it for post-mortem. Ramesh is currently on the run and police are searching for him.
