On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, the West Bengal Government felicitated Jayabrata Bhattacharya, Headmaster of Birpara High School, with the coveted ‘Shiksha Ratna’ Award at Kolkata’s Dhono Dhanya Auditorium.
Bhattacharya’s path to this achievement is remarkable. Once a police sub-inspector, he chose to leave the uniform behind and dedicate himself to shaping young minds. Since 2002, he has been serving in the education sector, and today, as headmaster, he continues to inspire students and staff alike.
His tireless commitment to providing quality education especially to children from the tea garden communities of Alipurduar has been widely recognized, making him a deserving recipient of the state’s highest honor for teachers.
In his message after receiving the award, Bhattacharya humbly dedicated the recognition to his students and fellow teachers. His honor has not only uplifted Birpara High School but has also filled the entire Alipurduar district with pride.
